Erin M Galbraith:

 

Erin Galbraith is a Chicagoland-based multidisciplinary artist known for her colorful abstract paintings and intuitive, energetic approach to making art. Working primarily with acrylics, she paints spontaneously, beginning with a single color and letting the composition unfold without a predetermined plan. Her brushstrokes are often swift and expressive, reflecting the physical momentum of her process and the emotional states that move through it.

 

Painting, for her, is both an outlet and a meditation. She often enters a flow state while working, where ideas move quickly, yet a calm clarity emerges in the midst of the storm. Her work captures this unique tension: a balance between intensity and joy, chaos and stillness, movement and presence.

 

In addition to acrylic painting, she works across a variety of media, including pastels, oil paint, gouache, and digital art on her iPad. Each medium offers its own rhythm and possibilities, and she embraces the shifts in style that come with that. Though abstraction is at the core of her practice, she also occasionally explores still life, approaching it with the same curiosity and sense of experimentation that drives all her work.

 

Her artwork has been displayed in various venues throughout Lake County, Illinois. She continues to grow her practice by following curiosity, embracing the unknown, and staying fully present in the act of creating.
