Bio
My name is Esther Kim. I am originally from Seoul, South Korea, and have been living in the United States for 25 years. I acquired my art skills while working for various companies in South Korea, including a Japanese animation studio and Warner Brothers working on various projects within “The Simpsons” animation department. I also spent many years at Oakton community college dedicated to the study and practice of acrylic painting. Currently I have paintings displayed in an art gallery in Grands Rapid, Michigan.

Art Statement
My interests include looking for new kinds of artistic inspiration by taking many photographs, reflecting, and creating new ideas through my paintings. I enjoy observing nature, including natural scenery, animals, ocean, and landscapes. I also receive inspiration from watching old films. Artists that inspire and influence my artistic interests are Henri Matisse and David Hockney.
