Pauline Kochanski

About Pauline Kochanski
Pauline Kochanski is a Chicago area multi-disciplinary artist, writer, independent curator, a lover of words and more. She is compelled to follow ideas that arise, be it family and ancestors, nature, objects that trigger memories. Pauline is transported by her encounters with the world, all of the present, past and possible futures.
Ms. Kochanski finds a variety of materials by working directly with nature and natural elements, to acrylic, ink, gold & silver leaf, cold wax, water color and more. Pauline has commented that her fascination with tones of nature, roots & branches of trees, as well as asemic writing has lead her to her moments of creative energy.
She believes there is a moment for an audience…while reading, watching a play, looking at art, when these readers, listeners, viewers are able to take the leap being offered by the artist to the place where ‘connecting the dots…’ becomes an interaction, a dialogue between the work and the participant. Her intention is to take the audience to this place and allow them their moment.
Ms. Kochanski is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago and DePaul University. She has exhibited locally, nationally and internationally. While her art work is in private collections, she continues to make it available to all who who desire to connect with it. Her writing has been published in journals, anthologies and on-line. Pauline has won awards for both her visual and written art.
