This workshop series combines intuitive art making and journal writing as a tool for wellness. Participants will learn simple ways to use art to: calm anxiety, boost self-confidence, encourage self-expression, and process trauma in a safe, judgment-free space.
Using a simple framework to focus on the actual process of making art vs. the finished product, participants will rediscover the importance of self-expression and listening to one’s own inner voice to improve mental and emotional health.
This is the first wellness workshop of a 2023 series where we will draw, sculpt, collage and paint using the process of intention-setting, art making, witnessing, and sharing as our framework.
Come as you are - no artistic experience is necessary!
Facilitator Information:
Jackie Schomburg Meynen is a self-taught, abstract mixed media artist and enjoys teaching art as a mindful, self-care practice. She is a certified Open Studio Project Facilitator and has recently begun volunteering with Art Impact Project. She is also an AIR Member.
