To kick-off the Village’s 150th anniversary celebration, in 2018 the Sesquicentennial Planning Committee partnered with the Chamber of Commerce to make the annual Light the Lights event something truly special. In addition to the traditional tree lighting ceremony, carolers and visit from Santa, the event was expanded to include a Wine and Beer Stroll, live reindeer, a trackless train and shopping specials from our local businesses. With an outpouring of support from the community for the enhanced event to continue, we’re working to keep the fun going again this year!
EVENT SCHEDULE
· 4-7 p.m.: Wine and Beer Stroll (Participating Businesses) - Pre-sale tickets going on sale soon...
4-7 p.m.: Shopping Specials (Participating Businesses)
4-7 p.m.: Trackless Train Rides (Train Depot at Wyman Green)
5-7 p.m.: Live Reindeer (Wyman Green)
5:15 p.m.: Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony (Park and Vernon avenues)
5:30-7 p.m.: Photos with Santa (Outside Village Hall)
Other: Live music by the Prairie Brass Band and the North Shore Harmonizers, Glencoe Holiday Drive cookies, food samples and more!
