GLENCOE, ILLINOIS (September 9, 2024) -- AIR Studio + Gallery, Glencoe, is excited to debut its Fall art season featuring Chicago artist, David deCastro. DeCastro creates vivid abstract paintings through exploration of order and chaos, often through found objects, including unusual materials like axe thrown wood remnants. The show runs September 13-28, 2024, with the opening event on Saturday, September 14, 5:00-7:00pm at AIR Gallery, 348 Tudor Court, Glencoe, Illinois.
David shared, "My father was an architect and artist, so these disciplines surrounded me as I grew up and have had a major influence on the development of my style. My art reflects my view of the world through the lens of chaos versus order. The great existential question, as I see it, seems to be whether we live in an inherently chaotic universe which we struggle to bring order to, or whether we were gifted a supremely ordered world that we persist in disordering and then seek to remedy. To put it another way, it is the question of God or no god. "
AIR Gallery is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, noon-5:00pm at 348 Tudor Court, Glencoe, IL. DeCastro's show runs through Saturday, September 28, 2024.
AIR (Artists-in-Residence) Studio + Gallery is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit artist cooperative dedicated to providing workspace, exhibit opportunities and community for local artists.
