Agnes Pelton was a surrealist artist who painted lyrical, luminous abstractions. Inspired by Kandinsky, spiritualism and the southwest landscape, Pelton was known as the "Desert Transcendentalist". Sandie will present a selection of Pelton’s artwork prior to beginning our project, discussing her images and influences. We will then work in a beautiful, rich technique: pastel ground on plexiglass with acrylic washes and color pencil. All materials will be included, and the plexiglass will be accompanied with a slotted natural wood holder.
